美國CPI超預期，金價基本維持穩定

2月13日，美國公佈了市場較為關注的1月季調CPI資料情況，資料顯示超出市場預期，現貨黃金出現小幅回落，但仍維持在日內高位，雖然亞洲的避險情緒會給市場帶來衝擊，但美聯儲似乎對通脹情況保持樂觀。
具體資料顯示，美國1月未季調CPI年率實際公佈2.5%，預期2.4%，前值2.3%；美國1月未季調核心CPI年率實際公佈2.3%，預期2.2%，前值2.3%。美國1月未季調CPI指數實際公佈257.97，預期257.86，前值256.97。
美國基本消費價格上漲，因家庭在租金和服裝上指出增加，這一現象支持美聯儲通脹率將逐步上升至2%的目標的觀點。機票、醫療、娛樂和教育價格的上漲也提振了1月份的潛在通脹。汽油價格在12月份上漲3.1 % 後下跌1.6 %。食品價格上漲0.2 %，與12月的上漲持平。家庭食品消費上升0.1 %。
美聯儲官員們對通脹似乎依然樂觀。紐約聯儲最新的消費者預期調查顯示，公眾對於未來一年及三年的通脹預期都為2.5%，而12月整體PCE通脹則較上年同期增長了1.6%。報告顯示消費者對勞動力市場仍保持樂觀態度，預期股市繼續上漲。
美聯儲主席鮑威爾本周在參眾兩院發表的國會證詞基調類似，均對美國經濟前景抱樂觀態度，稱現在還無法判斷突發公共衛生事件是否會對美國經濟產生影響。
鮑威爾排除了提高通脹目標的可能性，並將負利率政策放在其替代選項的尾端。自美聯儲在2012年確認將2%作為通脹目標以來，通脹率一直低於該水準。儘管國會監督美聯儲如何實現國會賦予的穩定物價和充分就業的雙重使命。
