非農不及預期，難以撼動市場趨勢

在1月10日，美國12月零售貿易資料以及醫療就業人數都有明顯增加，而勞工部公佈的非農就業人口不及市場預期，失業率維持地位，市場走勢相對低迷。
非農公佈後，聯邦基金利率期貨暗示，市場預計美聯儲在1月會議上維穩的概率小幅下降89.8%，加息概率為10.2%，降息概率為零； 市場預計美聯儲2020年只可能降息1次。最早在2020年11月會議上才可能進一步降息，降息概率為50.0%，若此次會議上沒有降息，12月降息概率為57.4%。
美國12月份就業增長的放緩程度超過預期，但是就業增長的速度仍然足以保持歷史上持續時間最長的經濟增長步入正軌，儘管受貿易局勢影響製造業陷入深度衰退；該報告可能不會改變美聯儲的評估，即經濟和貨幣政策都處於“良好狀態”。經濟學家認為2019年底的經濟增長率應該在2.3%左右。儘管經濟學家擔心勞動力短缺會嚴重限制就業，但是勞動力市場仍在以健康的速度繼續創造就業機會。
美國12月非農就業人數增加14.5萬，略低於市場預期，主要受到製造業崗位意外下滑的拖累，同時時薪同比增幅也降至2.9%。因而，儘管失業率仍然維持在3.5%低位，這一資料包告仍被解讀為不盡如人意，尤其是美國本土製造業就業疲軟的狀況再度凸顯了其經濟結構失衡的軟肋，可能為美聯儲此後維持寬鬆力度提供口實。受此影響，美元指數自日高回落近20點，而現貨黃金則跳漲近9美元。
12月非農意外不及預期，薪資增速意外降至2.9%；美國勞工部公佈的美國12月非農新增就業人口 14.5萬，不及預期的16萬；失業率維持在3.5%的50年低位，失業率已經連續21個月保持在低於4%的水準，這是自20世紀60年代以來持續時間最長的一次；薪資增速意外下降至2.9%，為2018年8月以來最低；儘管12月非農就業人口增速較前月有所下降，但預計美聯儲不會太快調整貨幣政策，2020年晚些時候的貨幣政策可能取決於薪資上升消費者支出的正面影響是否超過其對企業利潤的負面影響。
12月美國非農就業報告公佈後，料美聯儲政策前景將維持不變，但疲軟的薪資資料將引發一些擔憂。整體而言，美聯儲將維持鴿派立場，並採取觀望態度。
經濟學家稱，有人擔心，負責編制就業資料的美國勞工部勞工統計局(BLS)可能無法完全反映貿易局勢對就業人數的影響，製造業已經陷入衰退，並導致企業倒閉。美國勞工部將于2月公佈修正後的就業資料，預計修正後的截至2019年3月的美國就業崗位將比此前報告的少50.1萬個，這是10年來就業水準最大的下調幅度。
