貿易再起爭端，黃金起死回生
1月22日，現貨黃金在地位反彈，因全球經濟增速放緩，投資者尋求黃金作為避險產品。美國要求加拿大引導中國公民孟晚舟，市場擔憂中美貿易談判的前景，加速市場避險情緒重燃。美元指數止步高位。
國際貨幣基金組織(IMF)週一下調今明兩年全球經濟成長預估，指因中國和歐元區經濟放緩程度超過預期。IMF總裁拉加德敦促政策制定者，通過增強經濟對風險的抵禦能力，為“嚴重放緩”做好準備。
在達沃斯世界經濟論壇前夕，國際會計和諮詢公司普華永道(PwC)調查了近1400名CEO，結果顯示29%的人認為全球經濟增速將在未來12個月下降，該比例是去年的六倍，也是2012年以來的最高水準。
美國企業領袖看法的轉變最為突出，樂觀者的比例從去年的63%降至37%。而認為經濟增速將下降的CEO比例在所有地區都大幅上升，商界領袖對其企業的中短期營收都能夠取得增長的預期因此下降。
隨著美國政府關門開始影響到國內經濟增長，美元可能也受到壓力。摩根士丹利策略師認為，第一季美國經濟增長的環比年率可能不到他們預測的2.2%，約為2018年4.2%增速的一半。
美元近期上漲，其背後的催化劑還有美國和中國在本月早些時候於北京舉行的貿易談判中釋放出來的善意。但市場擔心這一美好願景可能命不長久。
在週二的外交部例行新聞發佈會上，有記者提及，加拿大駐美大使接受採訪時表示，美方已通知加方將就孟晚舟案正式提出引渡請求。
華春瑩指出，加美任意濫用他們之間的雙邊引渡條約，對中國公民的安全和合法權益構成了嚴重侵犯。我們敦促加方立即釋放孟晚舟女士，切實保障她的合法、正當權益。我們也強烈敦促美方務必高度重視中方嚴正立場，立即糾正錯誤，撤銷對孟晚舟女士的逮捕令，不向加方提出正式引渡要求。中方將視美方行動作出進一步反應。
若貿易緊張問題不解決，可能進一步損害正在放緩的全球經濟。儘管中美兩國近來就貿易談判陸續發出積極信號，但孟晚舟事件無疑是解決該問題面臨的不小障礙。若事件最終朝著負面方向進展，美元可能結束近兩周的反彈走勢。
