英國脫歐期限難以延長，但仍擔心無協議脫歐

2月21日，英鎊兌美元從低位開始反彈，原因在於美元出現下跌切英國公佈的經濟資料表現比較樂觀，除了經濟資料表現之外，英國的脫歐談判仍是關鍵，大部分投資者認為英國脫歐過渡期不會延長。
英國與歐盟將於下月初啟動圍繞雙方未來關係的談判，但雙方都十分堅持自身立場，而且距離過渡期結束還剩不到一年時間，因此已有人質疑是否來得及達成協議。
英國首相詹森已承諾不會延長過渡期到12月之後。2月17-20日受訪的34名分析師中，有24對此表示認同。德國商業銀行分析師Peter Dixon表示，英國政府不太可能同意延長過渡期，這是一條非常明顯的紅線。它可能會試著確保達成範圍較窄的貿易協定，挑選最符合英國經濟利益的領域。
根據英國2016年6月公投決定脫歐以來的所有調查，其中超過90%顯示，歐盟與英國未來最有可能的貿易體制是達成自由貿易協定。其次是達不成協定、雙方根據世界貿易組織 (WTO)規則展開貿易。可能性最低的結果是，英國仍為歐洲經濟區(EEA)成員，這意味著英國要為歐盟預算付費，以保留進入單一市場的權利，但對政策沒有發言權。
迄今為止，英國基本避開了在亞洲肆虐並威脅到全球經濟增長的公共衛生危機。其他調查顯示，此危機對亞洲和美國的影響將是短暫的。
英國2月Markit製造業PMI初值好於預期，英鎊兌美元短線上漲。雖然服務業稍稍不及預期，但仍可以看出，英國經濟依然強勁。市場研究機構IHS MARKIT表示，英國PMI與英國2020年初0.2%左右的GDP增速相符。
當前，脫歐問題才是影響匯價的重要因素。有分析師表示，英國脫歐的不確定性依然存在，英國央行似乎仍將在2020年降息，英鎊料在未來幾個月走軟，由於英國脫歐的不確定性依然很高，重新燃起的樂觀情緒不會持續太久，不能排除由於歐盟和英國未能在今年年底前達成永久貿易協定而導致的無協定脫歐。
