鲍威尔暗示减码将以渐进方式进行，美元走低商品货币飙升
周五(8月27日)美元指数下跌0.41%，至92.68；指标10年期美债收益率下跌3.11%，报1.307%，周四曾跃升至1.375%，为8月12日以来最高。鲍威尔周五在预先准备好的视频讲话中表示，在实现充分就业方面取得了明显进展，他认为，如果美国经济一如预期改善，今年开始放慢资产购买步伐可能是合适的。不过，鲍威尔称，缩减的时机和步伐不应被解读为利率何时开始上升的信号。
美联储梅思特倾向于年底前开始减码
克利夫兰联储主席梅思特表示，她希望美联储9月会议阐明思路，今年某个时候开始减码资产购买，到明年年中结束购买计划。
梅思特说：“我们已经达到条件，非常接近，现在是时候收缩一些极度宽松政策了，尤其是资产购买。”
现在的问题是“以适当的方式进行沟通，以确保不让市场意外”。“我认为，结束资产购买后，我们有时间评估经济数据、分析经济动能。”
梅思特表示，利率的变化是“还很遥远，不是今天要讨论的话题”，但可能在结束资产购买后考虑。
梅思特认为目前尚未达到充分就业，还有一段距离。
拜登拿出更乐观的经济增长及预算预测
拜登政府修订未来十年预算预测，因经济前景展望更加向好，对赤字的预测比三个月前更为乐观。
周五公布的数据显示，白宫目前预测今年经济增速为7.1%，5月份时预测为5.2%，对未来十年平均年增长率的预期为2.2%，先前预测为2%。这份为国会准备的中期评估包含了联邦政府收支的实际和预期变化。
提高经济增长预测，加之纳入先前报告中没有的对总统经济计划影响的假设，使2021财年赤字预测减少5550亿美元，未来十年赤字预测下调6840亿美元。
美国总统拜登可能试图以最新预测来说服国会通过4.1万亿美元经济计划，其中包括已获参议院批准的5500亿美元基础设施法案，以及3.5万亿美元涉及儿童看护、教育等社会保障性长期投资的预算案。
