美国消费者信心大涨：美国谘商会周二公布数据显示，美国9月消费者信心指数为104.1，上升至2007年8月来最高水平，预估为99.0，8月经修正后为101.8，前值为101.1，美国消费者信心指数大涨，表明美国居民对未来经济发展抱持乐观态度，这对美元构成利好，从而使黄金承压，打压现货金价下滑。
美国服务业PMI靓丽：周二金融数据公司公布的一份行业报告显示，美国9月服务业PMI初值高于预期，数据显示，美国9月服务业PMI初值为51.9，预估为51.1，8月终值为51.0。这显示出美国服务业发展稳健，这利好于美联储年内加息，从而提振美元，打压黄金。
