印度政府回收黄金 以稳定卢比汇率

《华尔街日报》9月6日报导，印度卢比贬值促使印度国内金价在上周创下历史新高，加上政府对黄金进口的限制措施，使得印度国内市场的旧金回收量大增；不过，也因为有大量的旧金供应，珠宝商回收黄金的折价正达到空前新高。印度宝石珠宝出口振兴委员会副主席Pankaj Parekh表示，旧金回收的供应相当程度缓解了因进口减少所可能导致的供应紧张。专家估计印度民间持有的黄金达到2.5万吨。
孟买主要旧金回收商之一Jugraj Kantilal and Co.的老板Jitendra Kantilal Jain表示，现在每天回收的旧金可以达到10-12公斤，相比上个月平均每天只有3-4公斤。不过，旧金回收价目前较黄金进口价少大约每盎司45-70美元，相比今年4月金价大跌带动需求大增的时候，珠宝商愿意给付较进口价高出每盎司25-35美元的旧金回收价。
旧金回收大增却不代表需求也有回升，事实上受到印度国内金价创新高的影响，消费者普遍对于购金决定较为观望，且印度政府已经努力采取措施希望稳定卢比的汇率，预期汇率稳定之后国内金价将会回落也是民众较为观望的原因。不过，印度的黄金消费旺季即将展开，需求也可望回升。受到年底节庆季节的带动，印度黄金消费通常自9月份起即会开始回升。
印度政府为抑制经常帐赤字的攀高而祭出包括提高黄金进口关税以及要求进口黄金需有20%用于再出口等限制措施，但根据世界黄金协会（World Gold Council）的报告，今年上半年印度黄金进口仍年增45%达到553公吨。
