现货黄金市场2016年9月21日4点整收于每盎司1314.4美元，较前一交易日相比，上涨了1.1美元，涨幅0.08%。现货白银较前一交易日上涨0.37%，报19.20美元。
美国8月新屋开工下降5.8%：美国商务部周二公布数据显示，美国8月新屋开工年化月率下降5.8%，经季节性调整后年率为114.2万户，预估为119万户，7月经修正后被轻微上调至121.2万户，前值为121.1万户。新屋开工总数下降幅度虽然大于预期，但8月独户住宅许可总数有所回升，表明住房需求依旧完好，这对美元有支撑作用，从而使黄金部分承压。
加息时点分歧大：美联储公布利率决定在即，但市场对美联储加息时点的分歧较大，据CME联邦观察显示，现在加息的几率是12%，上周是24%。而最近出台的一系列数据、美联储官员之间有分歧的言论，使市场投资者对美联储下次加息的时点揣测不已。这使得市场交投愈发谨慎，现货金价因此开启摇摆模式。
